Kundi Paihama said this during the opening ceremony of the Angola/Namibia ministerial meeting, in the ambit of the 14th meeting of the Angola/Namibia Bilateral Joint Commission of Defence and Security, which started on 02 October with the experts meeting.
Kundi Paihama said this during the opening ceremony of official talks between delegations of Defence ministries of Angola and CĂ´te dIvoire, aimed at strengthening the two African countries relations.
Referring to the prevalent situation in D R Congo, Kundi Paihama said that despite having already held the elections, the country has not yet achieved  stability; that is the reason why SADC, EU, and the International Communitys efforts will focus on the full pacification of the country, a sine qua-non condition for its economic and social development.
LISBON, May 28 (AFP) - Angola's Defence Minister Kundi Paihama said on Tuesday the demobilization camps the government set up for UNITA soldiers have taken in many people who have falsely claimed to belong to the rebel group.
Paihama said many people who merely lived in UNITA-controlled areas have identified themselves as having been rebel soldiers in hopes of preferential treatment by the government.
Kundi Paihama said this during the opening ceremony of the Angola/Namibia ministerial.
Paihama said he hoped the land issue would be resolved positively.
On the civil war in Angola, Paihama said the situation was now relatively calm though there were still difficulties being faced on the economic, social and political fronts.
